A Week On The Wrist - 2021 Rolex Explorer 1 - 124270 Rolex General Discussion
I am considering to acquire a Rolex Explorer 1, but after watching tons of .It looks GREAT on your wrist. Here's my 2 cents. The watch itself has far more "open space" .

,995.00 I wanted to update my thoughts and experiences with the 2021 Rolex Explorer 1 - 124270 after wearing it for a week. There has been a lot of back on forth on TRF concerning this model. Many people love the return to the classic 36mm size and some find it . I would think a flat wrist would have a greater measurement across the wrist than a wrist that is round. Hence a flat wrist should be able to accommodate a greater lug to lug distance on a specific watch with the lugs not extending beyond the confines of one's wrist.
Attached is a picture of my new 40mm Rolex Explorer 1 on my wrist. I have had a few comments that it looks too big. I think it looks fine. Could I get your opinion, do you think the 40mm Explorer 1 looks too big on my wrist? I appreciate any insight you can provide.
Reference Points A Comprehensive Collector's Guide To The Rolex Explorer I. Mapping the ascent of Rolex's go-anywhere watch. I received my new Explorer 1 today from my AD. I am going to spend the next week wearing it to see how it fits on my 7.5" wrist. I currently own the 39mm version and find that the dial wears a little too large. What he’s tend to sit down better on a flat wrist bs a round wrist. Otherwise, the lugs don’t stand off the wrist. You can get away with larger watches or watches with long lugs on a flat wrist since the watch sits and looks like it fits. A Week On The Wrist The Rolex Explorer Reference 214270. Taking a closer look at one of the most iconic and influential sport watches of all time.
Your wrist size accommodates the Explorer well within reasonable means. I have owned a neo vintage 14270 Explorer as well as the 39mm (which I felt was larger than the original design and lacked the “style” of the 36mm), and finally my current Explorer, a 2021 era 124270 36mm on my 7.25” wrist. With the buzz surrounding the “new” Rolex releases (specifically, their decision to discontinue the 39mm and revert back to the 36mm sizing), I started to have doubts on whether the 39mm was the right size for my wrist. The newest Rolex Explorer — whether in steel or two-tone — could be the first steel sports Rolex that doesn’t garner a waitlist. In the beginning, this won’t be the case, but I’d guess that things will settle out rather quickly. The size will make quick work of its potential customer base.
