Mar 26, 2015. Seeing all of the great SM 300s in the post below got me to thinking about comparing the Omega with a vintage Rolex Submariner. Just anecdotally, it seems like there are a lot more Submariners on the market on a regular basis (particularly 5513s but also 1680s and to a lesser degree 5512s and earlier Submariners).
Plus points for both watches here. Submariner: Waterproof to 300 meters, unidirectional rotating bezel, automatic movement, hacking seconds hands, screw down crown and COSC certification. Speedmaster: Chronograph, tachymeter and a 52 hour power reserve (Omega quotes 40). OK, so a few more points to the Rolex! Costs. Omega Seamaster 300 (Omega Vintage Mesh Bracelet): 114g. Rolex Submariner 1680 (Rolex 93150 Oyster Bracelet): 116g. That said, the Seamaster 300’s head is probably somewhat lighter than the Submariner’s with most of the weight in the heavy mesh bracelet. The result is that the watch sits closer to your hand, with less head-flopping, and a . I currently have: omega seamaster 2254.50 omega speedmaster mark iv automatic (1974) omega speedmaster mark ii (2015) I'm seriously looking at adding a new watch to my collection. I'm thinking of a rolex submariner, but it looks almost identical to my seamaster and is about four times the price. Feb 13, 2015. There is a lot of variability within a 6-inch wrist. It could be thinner and be flatter on top where the watch sits, etc. With a smaller wrist, that variability becomes even more important.
